Kelly, Wei Lian take SuperStar title

I met this guy very briefly when I visited Singapore in July. I think it's fantastic that he's got this far against all the odds, including the doubts of some of his so called friends who I'm sure will be right behind him now that he's in with a good chance of winning the final at the start of September.

Now you're talking.

Chris Mccausland

Finally Chris has got his site going. HE was in my year at school. Hadn't seen him in years until last year when I read he was trying a bit of stand-up comedy in and around London. I went to see him in Wimbledon and he was pretty good considering it must take balls of cast iron to stand up in front of an expectant sometimes hostile audience and to promis to make them laugh.

This month he's giving the Edinburgh festival a shot with his one-man show "As Seen on TV". Speaking of which, I did see him on TV just tonight in a show on BBC2 about the festival. Chris was only on for about 5 seconds, but to be casually channel hopping and for the lad who used to sit next to me at school to suddenly pop up on national telly was awesome.
Good on ya Chris and the best of luck.

Calls to close dissident's radio - BBC

This is fascinating.

"Potter" actor is "rubbish" with girls

Weren't we all at 16? And some of us still are. :)

"Lost" spoilers a headache for UK fans

Tell me about it! I had already read too much on Wikipedia. I told Rob about the show late on Sunday night and by yesterday evening he'd downloaded and watched the whole series while most of us have only got to episode 3 or 4. Great show, glad you like it. Now p**s off and let me watch it in peace. :)

Actually he's been pretty good now I told him I don't want any more spoilers.

Hollywood plans two 9/11 movies - DigitalSpy

I wondered how long it would be before Hollywood would cash in. And apparently a Third 9/11 movie is planned. Maybe in 2009 we'll get something on the London Bombings. Although something tells me it won't be that long. :(

Malaysians get tough on mobiles - BBC

Thin end of the wedge? Probably not.

Delay for .xxx domain - BBC

I met the two English guys who were trying to sell this idea at ICAN's conference in South Africa last December. At that time they seemed to think that noone was taking them seriously.

Isle seat - The Observer

That's it, I am completely hooked and sucked in by Lost which is a US import currently showing on Channel 4 and E4 in the UK. The reasons I like this are far too many, and probably not massively different from e reasons millions of other people like Lost. For episode reviews see Billie Doux site.

Google News adds RSS

This is very cool and long overdue.

In other news I still have some audio content to post when I can get it from Geoff's computer, and I should probably go through and post some of the photos and vids which are clogging up my phone.

But the response to the blogcasting around the world has been very good. Heh, wish I was doing that full time.

Ok back to work.

Toodle Pip.

Preston Perfect

Following a couple of days in Epsom is was finally time to get back to Preston this evening. London was predictably sticky and crouded and dragging all my baggage from the last month across the city on the tube was no fun at all.

Owing to getting delayed at Waterloo I eventually made the 7:25 to Preston. A couple of cups of tea, 3 hours, and several chapters of the latest Harry Potter book later I rolled into Preston station at something to eleven.

I'm now back in my flat contemplating washing and work on monday, and living on beans and toast for the next few months while I pay off the credit cards. Egg just put their APR up to 15.9%, how jolly nice of them. Buggers!

The taxi driver wasn't even slightly interested in hear any of the details of my trip. The reality is no one really gives a frigging monkeys. And why should they? They didn't go. They didn't meet all the wonderful people and share in the many awesome experiences I have had over the last 5 weeks. But you dear reader have. And for your indulgence, I sincerely thank you.
